We were
welcomed into Captain Moe and Dorothy's home by a beautiful,
lush garden courtyard and the soft chatter of parakeets. Our
room was spacious and spotless, with lots of sunlight. Every
room has a private entrance, refrigerator, air or ceiling
fans (more than enough circulation!) and large bath area. The Gold
Zone location saved us loads on taxis because everything was
within comfortable walking distance, even in heels. We had
great fruit and the freshest pastries for breakfast each
day. At night, we enjoyed the stars and listened to chirping
crickets because there was absolutely no street noise. There
are no TVs or phones in the rooms, so this isn't the place
if you need to be "plugged in", but for those of
you who like to "drop out" THIS IS THE PLACE. I
hesitate to share this info out of selfishness because I
hope to book a room when I return soon, but everyone who
wants to relocate to Mazatlan but can't yet, should
experience this place. It allows you the privacy of a hotel
with the feel and comfort of living in your own home.
During my most recent visit to Mazatlan (my 4th in 12 months) I discovered the secret to enjoyable travel...Captain Moe's
Posada! Because I was looking for something beyond the "typical" tourist experience Captain Moe's gave me exactly what I'd been missing on previous trips, the feeling of LIVING in Mazatlan, if even for a brief time. My Dad and I stayed at Capt. Moe's from 06/14-06/21 while fishing in Mexico and it was better than any hotel stay we have ever had. Everything from the room to the food to the hospitality was great! We simply have nothing remotely negative to say. If you want to enjoy your stay in Mazatalan, you owe it to yourself to consider this B&B. We will definitely be back! Thanks Dorothy and Moe!
